After a day at the orchard, enjoy this tasty treat!

1-½ cups red onion, thinly sliced and separated into rings
6 cups cabbage, sliced
1/3 cup red wine vinegar
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 bay leaves
1 cinnamon stick
1-½ cups apples, thinly sliced
¼ tsp. black pepper

Spray large pan with non-stick spray and heat. Add onions and sauté 5 minutes. Stir in cabbage, vinegar, sugar, bay leaves, and cinnamon stick. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes or until cabbage is tender. Stir in apples and pepper. Cover and cook 5 more minutes. Discard bay leaves and cinnamon stick.

Yield: 4 serving
