Exercise While You Work!
We all know there is no way to get a total-body workout at the office unless you're a professional athlete. However, just because we may not have equipment in the office for working out, doesn't mean we have to let our muscles sleep all day! Wouldn't it be great to burn a few calories while you're in the office? Well, here a few tips to keep you motivated and burning calories throughout your work day:
1) Try getting up and standing while you talk on the phone. Standing burns 30% more calories than sitting!
2) Instead of emailing a co-worker information, get up and walk to their desk. Maybe even get a glass of water at the cooler on the way back to your desk!
3) When waiting for a fax to go through or the copy machine to work, do a few calf raises or lunges. Keep those muscles awake during the day!
4) If it's a nice day and your lunch break permits it, go for a walk around the block. This can be fun especially if you can get a colleague to walk with!
Although these exercises are not meant in any way to replace a normal workout, they can help keep you awake and motivated during the day. Think of it as getting paid to burn calories!
